FG to Boosts Nollywood with £2bn Grant

Nigeria_Nollywood_ MovieThe federal government, at the weekend, disclosed a £2 billion special programme known as Project Nollywood to aid the film industry in Nigeria scale beyond its achievements of the past 20 years.

This was just as Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio declared that he has endowed a £33 million, Goodluck Jonathan Prize for the best actors and actresses in Nollywood.

Nigeria Nollywood Actress Ngozi Nwosu Flies to UK for Treatment

Nollywood_Actress_Ngozi_NwosuIt's been more than a month now since Governor Fashola of Lagos state and friends of ailing actress Ngozi Nwosu came to the rescue as Ngozi battled to raise six million naira to undergo a much needed treatment abroad to stop a rampaging heart and kidney disease, the good news is that Ngozi Nwosu has now flown to the UK to begin her treatment in earnest.

We however know that his son, pop singer Dr Sid has put up a photo of Justus Esiri on his twitter avatar and updated his bio as 'RIP Dad'.

Africa Entertainment Group set to Transform Nollywood

The International Film Festival Rotterdam Funds Nollywood MovieAfrica Entertainment Group (AEG) is set to change the Nollywood by placing it on the mainstream of the global movie industry. This will not only further boost the profile of Nigerian film industry but also push Nollywood movies into the mainstream of the global movie industry. AEG also said it plans to bring top Hollywood actors to Nigeria.

This and other plans were unfolded by the leader of the group, American based Nigerian actor, Mr Pascal Atumah.

The International Film Festival Rotterdam Funds Nollywood MovieThe International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is funding a new Nigerian movie Confusion Na Wa directed by Kenneth Gyang. The movie will feature top Nollywood stars including Ramsey Nouah, Ali Nuhu, OC Ukeje, Tunde Aladese, Tony Goodman and Gold Ikonmwosa.

MTV Base VJ Search to Kicks off in NigeriaJust a few months after MTV Base found its new South Africa VJ, Nomuzi Mabena, the channel turns its gaze to Nigeria. Telling the story of the search for a new star, fun new reality show "MTV Base VJ Search - Nigeria" kicks off on 15 January 2013.

The three-part TV series focuses on the hunt for a brand new VJ (Video Jockey or TV presenter) for music channel MTV Base (DStv Channel 322).
